Using ICT to enhance Teaching and Learning

Filed under: Teaching and Learning — aflderbycity @ 1:41 pm

Welcome to the blog all those of you who have followed up on the email I sent after the Common Closure Day session on 30/10/06.  I thought that it would be a good idea to use the blog to disseminate information about some of the things presented by Sue and myself.  I will also attach some of the files that I demonstrated (when possible). You may also wish to navigate around the blog to see some of the other posts and comments made by teachers using ICT. Firstly some extra information regarding mindmapping software.

Mindmapping

There are lots of mind mapping programmes available.  I know that many of you are using this kind of software already, however, some colleagues may not be aware of this.  Some are listed below. http://www.mindmapper.com/

However, the one I demonstrated was called Cornerstone and is a Logotron product.  Several of you already have Logotron products in your schools so there may be licensing discounts available.  It can be seen at http://www.logo.com/cat/view/cornerstone-visual-thinking.html .  I’m not so sure that all of the above products have an economic option for multiple users in schools.

Finally it would be good to hear any further comments about the software and hardware that were demonstrated during the session.  has anyone got any specific ideas that have been developed since Monday that they would like to share below?
